User reviews
★★★★☆
I start with a disclaimer: I am not an expert in Digital Photography by any means. 😛 In terms of hardware and picture quality il say that its too good (for a normal person). I purchased this device to replace my EOS 1200D which was very bulky (according to me). My requirements were something compact, portable and a sensor size on par with a DSLR or greater than 1" (since I believe, good hardware generally yields good output).Few things to note. When going through the other reviews I came across many reviews which went along the lines of "broken seal", "memory card missing" and "warranty card missing". These are the experiences from my purchase:1. "broken seal" - Yes, the seal was broken and a layer of tape was applied on top of it very professionally. I have personally seen some retailers doing this after an initial inspection of the product so I didn't think too much of it. On inspecting the contents I noticed that:[i] the charger had a plastic cover which had a tape which was remove and not applied perfectly[ii] there were very mild fingerprint smudges on the viewfinder lcdChecked the both sides of the lenses - didn't find any dust or scratch so everything checked out.2. "missing memory card" - The box I received doesn't mention a memory card in its list of contents so this maybe an inaccurate listing.3. "warranty card missing" - The Warranty Card was present with valid Serial Numbers. Registered my product on Canon and checked the authenticity of the camera. One thing which I did notice was that I could validate the S/N of the body but not the lens. Raised a SR with Canon Support Team, waiting to hear back from them.Overall, thank you Amazon![Update] The Canon Support Team were quick and helped me to register the lens. So everything checks out!
